SSU to launch Wine Industry Finance & Accounting Certificate in ...

Sonoma State University in February will launch a certificate program taught by wine industry professionals in the finance and accounting fields.

Each seminar is designed to deliver core quantitative concepts illustrated by wine industry examples. The new program is designed for wine industry professionals who seek a greater understanding of the quantitative side of their business. No previous finance and accounting experience is required.

Joining Sonoma State?s wine industry faculty to deliver this new program are:

  • Rick Boland, Moss Adams
  • Ted Elliott, TR Elliott Winery and Emeritus Vineyards
  • Corinne Meddaugh, Landmark Vineyards, Sonoma State Business Administration lecturer
  • Toni Moheng, Burr Pilger Mayer
  • Jay Silverstein, Moss Adams
  • Betsy M. Stewart, Zainer Rinehart Clarke
  • Jeanette Tan, Kokomo Winery and Sbragia Family Vineyards

An introductory elective, ?Finance for Non-Finance People,? will be held on?Friday, Feb. 8, 8 a.m.?noon (register here).?To earn the certificate you must complete eight, 4-hour seminars split between core and elective offerings. Core seminars include:

  • ?Financial Accounting for Your Wine Business,? Friday, Feb. 15, 8 a.m.?noon.?(register here)
  • ?Cost Accounting for Wineries,? Friday, Feb. 15, 1?5 p.m.?(register here)
  • ?Managerial Accounting for your Wine Business,? Friday, April 19, 8 a.m.?noon. (register here)
  • ?Budgets, Forecasting, and Best Practices for your Wine Business,? Friday, April 19, 1?5 p.m. (register here)
