ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- And that was what class was like Friday at Onondaga Community College's "College for Kids Program." Friday's rocket launch was one of three weekly sessions with more than 200 students between the ages of eight and 14.
Educational courses include everything from digital photo scrapbooking and web site building to assembling electric cars and building rockets.
As you can see, it's a lot of fun for the kids, but the students say they've learned a lot as well, especially when it comes to math.
"I've learned that you need to balance the weight and you need to make sure it has an aerodynamic shape to it. And it needs to be made evenly and neatly," said Marc Walters.
Over the next couple of Fridays, students will be racing electric cars and battling Lego robots.
