No one ever said having kids would be easy on your wallet. And if you?re a parent with a brood of young athletes, this is something you probably know all too well.

Youth sports is an estimated $5 billion annual industry, says Mark Hymann, the author of?The Most Expensive Game in Town: The Rising Cost of Youth Sports and the Toll on Today?s Families, in an interview with?Reuters.?Some families find themselves spending $10,000 a year on their kids? extracurricular athletics.

If Hymman?s estimate surprises you, consider that he calls this figure very conservative. The amount begins to make more sense when you consider that some parents spend $300 on an aluminum bat for their little slugger, or $1,100 on golf irons for their aspiring Tiger.

But it?s not just the cost of equipment you need to factor in. New uniforms, private instructors and travel are all expenses that parents of sports-minded children face year after year.

The most expensive kids? sports? Those would be horseback riding, gymnastics, lacrosse, ice hockey and figure skating, according to?Yahoo. A lacrosse stick alone can cost as much as $250, and ice skating lessons for beginners are about $100 an hour.

So, is there a way to keep these costs down? Reuters says there is.

Local recreation leagues generally have fewer road trips than more elite teams, making them a less expensive option.?And if you?re not sure you want to spend upwards of $1,000 on golf clubs for your child, consider buying used equipment, or even guiding them toward a less pricey sport. Finally, don?t be afraid to negotiate the price?or ? if your child is enrolling with friends or siblings ? ask for a group discount.

Comparison of Hotels near Sydney Airport

There are many popular lodges in Sydney with quite a few hotels near the Sydney airport. All the hotels have many attractions and shuttle options. Prices vary depending on the quality and rating of the hotels. Last minute hotel deals are also offered at some of them.

The closest hotel to the airport is Stamford Sydney Airport Hotel. It is located in Mascot at a distance of 0.9miles from the airport. The hotel has dine - in and bar facilities. Room service is also available. Shuttle and town car services can be availed. There is a fitness centre, pool, Jacuzzi and spa. Work meetings and conferences can be held at the Business Centre. The downsides are that pets are not allowed and parking is charged. The hotel is rated as 5 stars. Charges are $165/night AUD.

The hotel has a three star rating.

Other options for a Sydney Airport Hotel include the Airport Sydney International Inn, Quest Mascot Serviced Apartments and the Holiday Inn. The Sydney International Inn is located near the Sydney Cricket Stadium and just across the Golf Course. Though the hotel is rated as 3 stars, it is good for a short stopover or a single night stay because of the affordable prices. Facilities include room service, public transport, laundry and conference rooms. Internet access is available only in public areas. Prices start from $130 AUD.

The Quest Mascot Serviced Apartments feature an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium, tour assistance and concierge services. All rooms have balconies overlooking the city and the high paid ones have kitchens as well. Internet access is available at extra cost. Circular Quay and Darling Harbor are popular attractions within short distances. The hotel is rated as 4.5 stars. Rooms are available from a starting price of $145 AUD.

Holiday Inn has one of the most ideal locations in Sydney in terms of tourist attraction. It is located on the Darling Harbor. The popular Chinatown is right behind the hotel and the Sydney Entertainment Centre is just across the road. Trains and buses stops are nearby and there are options for a ferry ride as well. The hotel is rated as 4.5 stars so the facilities are pretty good. Rates start at $180 AUD.

Disney Parks After Dark: Surprises in the Night Sky at Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park

I guess it?s not a big surprise that my favorite place after dark would be Cars Land in Disney California Adventure park. If you haven?t had a chance to watch the moment when the neon signs on Route 66 turn on, you?re going to want to. It?s very cool.

The neon signs also make for some very interesting photos, and who knows ? you may even see a full moon in one of the tires on the roof of Luigi?s Casa Della Tires.

While you?re checking out the neon signs ? or photographing them ? if you time it right, you might see a little bit of the fireworks at Disneyland park behind the Flo?s V8 Caf? sign.
